Study Spanish the beach-resort Almuñeçar!
Almuñeçar, like Marbella, is situated right along the coastline of the
lovely Costa Del Sol, in the valley Costa Tropical, where
the average temperature is 18C during winter and 26C during summer. Founded
by the Phoenicians around two thousand years ago, with its white-chalked buildings,
beautiful old town centre and the beach promenade right by, this town is a popular
destination for both tourists and students from all over Europe.
A bit calmer than Marbella, Almuñeçar offers the visitor a splendor of Spanish
town-life, with beach activities, bars where you can try the local and
traditional tapas along with a cerveza or sangria, as well as easy access to the other cities
and towns spread around these southern coasts of Andalucía, -probably the
most beautiful part of Spain.
The Almuñeçar school
Our school in Almuñeçar is a small Andalucian villa, located downtown in the
historic part, near the caste of San Miguel and 300 meters from the beach.
Although a location less famous than f.ex. Barcelona or Madrid, it´s a
popular destination, much due to the instant access to the beach and its many
pleasures. Combine studying with getting a tan or going for a
swim, and do your homework on the beach.
We cannot think of a better and more refreshing way to learn Spanish.
Getting around
As the transport network in southern Spain is great, visiting the
neighbouring cities and towns is easy. Take a bus to Malaga (85kms away), or
to Granada (76kms away), home of the famous La Alhambra. Or rent a car with
your classmates and just drive around Andalucía for a while,
enjoying the endless beaches, the sand-dunes in the east,
the olive groves or the citrus
plantations.
Cultural visits and excursions
The school offers many excursions as well; take a daytrip to any of the nearby
cities with your personal guide from the school, or go further down to
Gibraltar or even Marocco as part of what the school offers you as
entertainment. At night, we recommend the pubs and bars close to the beach,
for sangrias and socialising, and there are ample opportunities to talk to the
locals as well, and thus further improve on your Spanish whilst having a
great time!

Airport pick-up and transportation services
For Almuñecar we offer transport pick-up and/or return from either Malaga or
Granada airport, for a fee of €110 (per person, one way).
We also offer pick-up and return services from the nearby bus and train
stations (prices depend on which train or bus station you arrive at). This
is a 24h service whilst the school is open.
NB! There is a €20 supplement for pick-up or return services between the
hours of 24.00 and 07.00 in the morning.
NB! The Almuñeçar school is only open from 1st June to 31st October.
