Salamanca - The golden city
Salamanca, also known as "the golden city" is one of the most popular
student cities in Europe, and has a pulsating student-environment. As one of
the two culture-cities of Europe in 2002, Salamanca is on the map for
everyone who is interested in either learning more about Spanish culture, or
who is a student. -Or both!
Situated right west of Madrid, inbetween Madrid
and Portugal, Salamanca also offers great opportunities for travelling and
seeing more of Spain, or for taking a trip to Lisboa and the beautiful
northern beaches of Portugal. Salamanca, with its population of about
180.000 is without a doubt a cosmopolitan city, but it also has an abundance
of real Spanish tradition.
In addition to the European Culture Capital 2002
title, Salamanca also has been declared "World Heritage City" by UNESCO.
Furtheron, Salamanca boasts the third oldest university in Europe and
because of its quality and variety of studies, it is recognised as one of the most
prestigious in the world. The traditional food and drinks have to be tried,
and the nightlife, whether
you´re just looking for a pub to buy a beer or you´re in the mood for some
"clubbing", is there for you to enjoy in abundance.

Living arrangements available

Airport pick-up and transportation services
For Salamanca we offer transport pick-up and/or return from the Barajas
(Madrid) airport, for a fee of €140 (or €90 per person for two people)one
way. Or alternatively, transport from Madrid Barajas airport to the Madrid
busstation, and from the Salamanca busstation to accommodation in Salamanca
for €85 for one person and €70 per person for two or more.
We also offer pick-up and return services from the nearby bus and train
stations (prices depend on which train or bus station you arrive at). This
is a 24h service all year round.
NB! There is a €20 supplement for pick-up or return services between the
hours of 24.00 and 07.00 in the morning.
