Our school in Almuñeçar is a small Andalucian villa, located downtown in the historic part, near the caste of San Miguel and 300 meters from the beach. Although a location less famous than f.ex. Barcelona or Madrid, it´s a popular destination, much due to the instant access to the beach and its many pleasures. Overflowing with culture, history, music, food, wine, art and literature - you could spend a lifetime in Spain and still not see it all! From the incredible mountain-ranges in the north, to the breathtaking and seemingly never-ending beaches in the south, -Spain is a country to experience and fall in love with!

Some facts about the Spanish language

Spanish is the second most spoken language in the world with more than 350 million speakers, and is the official language in 21 countries.
It is an official language in the EU, MERCOSUR, UNESCO, U.N.O, GATT... It is one of the most important languages in international and political meetings.
The demand to learn Spanish has doubled in the last 10 years (and this demand is based on market-demand!)
The continuous growth of economies in Latin-American countries mean they are becoming important trading partners, and this means that companies and corporations from the rest of the world will have to get used to doing business in Spanish.
Spanish people have a tendency not to speak English, meaning you will not be able to get by using just English when communicating with the Spaniards.

What kind of courses do we offer?

We have a large choice of courses on offer all year round, with six different entry levels: Basic (beginners), Elementary, Intermediate 1, Intermediate 2, Advanced and Proficiency-superior.

Our classes have an average of six students, and a maximum of 9.
We have starting dates throughout the whole year, every year.
On your first day the school will offer you a placement test to determine which group you should be in. Beginners do not have to take the test. The test is a written test followed by a brief interview, and based on this you will be placed directly in your class and start your studies.
For every course there is an equal amount of grammar lessons and conversation lessons, ensuring you maximise the four learning tools: reading, writing, speaking and listening.
Course material is provided by the schools to every student. The school curriculums have been developed following the directions of the "Instituto Cervantes", highly recognised within all Spanish language schools and institutions.
On completion of your course, you will be awarded a certificate or diploma containing the CEELE seal (Certificate of tuition of Spanish as a foreign language of the University of Alcalá). Furthermore, our Spanish-schools are accredited by the Spanish Chamber of Commerce of Madrid, CSN in Sweden and BILDUNGSURLAUB in Germany.

Long duration courses (+12 weeks)

You can study Spanish with us from as little as one week, up to a whole year. For those of you that have the opportunity, we offer a 12% overall price reduction, if you choose to study 12 weeks or more. Your choices of courses are all variations of intensive (20h/w or 20+5h/w) or super-intensive (30h/w or 30+5h/w)

Learn Spanish travelling

If you choose the long-duration course (as above), we can also offer you the further opportunity to change locations whilst you study! This is a great way to experience and discover Spain and its many different cities.

You can choose any combination from the following six locations:

The 12% price reduction applies also here! Your choices of courses for this option are the same as the long-duration course, in other words all variations of intensive (20h/w or 20+5h/w) or super-intensive (30h/w or 30+5h/w).

NB! Although it is possible to stay in any of the above schools only one week as part of this travel-course, there is a penalty in price for staying less than two weeks in any one place. We would also like to recommend that your minimum stay in any school is two weeks, and that your initial stay (your first location), is three weeks or longer, to ensure you get a good basic grasp on our teaching methods and the material before you move on. There is no price penalty for any stay of two weeks or longer in any location.

Academic Year Spanish course (24+ to 36 weeks)

This course is for those who really would like to get a firm grasp on the Spanish language, and acquire international experience in doing so. The minimum duration of this course is 24 weeks, and for those who choose this course we offer a 20% price reduction of the total cost of the course.

One to One courses

This course offers a fully personlised method of learning, according to the students specific needs and desires. At a one to one level, the student will be able to decide both schedule and content of the course. The choices of duration of these courses vary from 5-40 hours/week, and is aimed at students with specific needs of learning Spanish in a short period of time. We especially recommend these classes to businesspeople and professionals.

Christmas course

This course consists of a 20h/week course for two weeks in total, and, naturally, takes place at Christmas time. This course includes excursions and cultural activities with Christmas "themes", as well as the famous Epiphany parade, museums and other interesting places around town. There are lots of traditional Christmas activities included in the course and is guaranteed to be a Christmas you´ll never forget

Spanish for Specific Purposes

Course 1: Spanish language and History of Spain
This course is for the already able (i.e. intermediate to superior level of Spanish) Spanish student, and combines:
12 lessons/week for general language studies
10 lessons/week for Spanish history studies

Course 2: Spanish language and Literature of Spain
Also for the already able Spanish speaker and combines:
12 lessons/week for general language studies
10 lessons/week for Spanish Literature studies

Course 3: Spanish language and Spanish Art
Again for the already able Spanish speaker and combines:
12 lessons/week for general language studies
10 lessons/week for the studies of Spanish art

Spanish language for Business and law

This program has been designed for students who have an intermediate to superior level of Spanish, especially for business professionals, but also for students who are directing themselves towards a career as business professionals.

This is a course that offers personalised instruction to professionals who need to improve their abilities of Spanish and/or expand their knowledge of Spanish business or other professional fields.

This course offers individualised teaching methods, higly qualified teachers with specialisation within the desired area and the opportunity for the student to personalise his or her course based on the specific needs of the individual.

Preparation course for the D.E.L.E. exam

This course is especially designed to help those who are coming up for a D.E.L.E. exam (Diploma of Spanish as a Foreign Language), and is the only Official Certificate of Spanish for foreign students recognised by the Instituto Cervantes. The specific aim of this particular course is to prepare the student to pass this upcoming exam.

We offer preparation to pass the D.E.L.E. exam at any of its three levels:

Spanish teacher training course

This course is aimed at teachers who teach Spanish as a foreign language and for all teachers of Spanish who would like to brush up and extend their knowledge of teaching Spanish. We have three Spanish teacher training courses to offer, two two-week courses and one four week (a combination of the two first courses). All the courses have 30 hours a week, with a class-size of between 10 and 18 students.

The "Golden Age" Programme

This course has been especially developed for the more mature people who would like to learn or improve their Spanish whilst spending time in Spain, and is available in Madrid, Marbella and Salamanca. The course is designed for those of 50 years or older, and is a combination of language classes, excursions, culture classes, Spanish art classes, as well as several trips to surrounding cities and locations. For those interested, we can also offer special dancing classes in Flamenco, Spanish cooking classes and more, all to further enhance the cultural experience.

Spanish language and Flamenco

This course is especially designed for those who want to learn to dance Flamenco whilst improving (or beginning to learn) Spanish. The course consists of 22 hours of language classes each week, combined with eight hours of Flamenco tuition and dancing. You get to share the stage with professional Flamenco dancers and will be taught to master this passionate and traditional Spanish dance. The Flamenco classes will take place in the afternoons/evenings and are available in many of our Spanish schools.
